Hillside, an all-boys boarding school in Marlborough, Massachusetts, serves students from Fifth to Ninth Grades, with particular emphasis on teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students. Our summer JumpStart Program, now in its third year, has supported Hillside students as they transition into the academic year. For the first time, we’re opening the program to other International students. The two-week program focuses on language, culture, and a familiarization with boarding school practices. Classes run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include study in English grammar, American culture and history, an acclimation class that introduces students to the expectations and requirements of boarding school life, as well as a reading and writing lab. The rigorous academic period is complemented by fun daily athletics such as touch football, whiffle ball and swimming, and day trips to local museums, parks, historical sites, and more. On weekends, students have the choice of visiting attractions such as Boston, Plymouth, Concord, Canobie Lake, and Six Flags
