(No Summer Program for 2015) George Stevens Academy (GSA) is an independent high school on the coast of Maine. Founded in 1803, the Academy is a caring educational community. It offers a challenging, comprehensive program of studies that fosters intellectual inquiry and the pursuit of knowledge, inspires creativity, develops self-reliance, and prepares graduates for a purposeful life. The extensive curriculum includes Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses, environmental and marine science, programs in the arts and industrial technology, ESL, Spanish, and French. GSA prepares students for admission to and study at the nation’s most selective universities. With more than 35 clubs, activities, and sports, GSA students have many opportunities to explore interests. Signature programs include an award-winning jazz band, steel drums, International Night, arts festival, sailing team, outstanding baseball, Independent Study and Internship Program, and opportunity to design your own class.
